Abstract
The present study aims to systematically formulate the existing body of knowledge in the field of Jihadi Management and to address the conceptual and methodological fragmentation observed in previous research. Given the rapid expansion of the related literature and the diversity of theoretical and empirical approaches in this area, the need was felt to develop a comprehensive map of the components, methodologies, and outcomes discussed in existing studies. To this end, the current research employed a Systematic Review approach based on a standardized review protocol, examining all scholarly articles published in reputable Persian databases up to 2024. During the data collection phase, 1878 article titles were identified, and following four rigorous screening stages, 201 eligible studies were selected for final analysis. The extracted data were processed using the Thematic Analysis approach. The findings revealed that a considerable portion of the reviewed studies were qualitative in nature, predominantly employing interpretive and descriptive methods. Moreover, the results indicated that the core components of Jihadi Management can be conceptualized across three major dimensions: (1) Religious–Spiritual characteristics (including God-centeredness, devotion to leadership, sincerity, and self-sacrifice); (2) Scientific–Professional characteristics (such as comprehensiveness, rationality, innovation, and foresight); and (3) Operational–Executive characteristics (including transformational leadership, discipline, teamwork, and people-orientation). In addition, the reported outcomes of implementing Jihadi Management in organizations primarily encompassed the strengthening of a Jihadi organizational culture, the realization of Resistive Economy principles, and the enhancement of managerial efficiency and effectiveness. In conclusion, by systematically mapping the existing literature, this study provides an integrated conceptual framework for Jihadi Management, identifies thematic, methodological, and practical gaps in the field, and paves the way for developing indigenous models of management, decision-making, and governance based on the Jihadi Management paradigm in Iran.
