Identification and Analysis of Managerial Implications from the Life and Behavior of Habib ibn Muzahir

Abstract

Habib ibn Muzahir al-Asadi is one of the pivotal figures of the Ashura epic, whose multifaceted character has often been overlooked. Studying the life of great and inspirational figures in history can help identify principles and concepts that remain applicable in the realms of management and leadership. The present research aims to analyze the character of Habib ibn Muzahir to identify and structure managerial implications. This study is organized based on the qualitative content analysis method, and the managerial implications are extracted from the life and behavior of Habib ibn Muzahir. By analyzing the character of Habib ibn Muzahir, the managerial teachings were categorized into seven types: planning, decision-making, leadership and guidance, cultural and value-based development, organizing, motivation and morale-building, and human resource development and training. The analysis of Habib ibn Muzahir’s character concludes that he represents an example of exemplary Islamic administrators and rulers who can be considered a model for management
