Analyzing the dimensions and components of leadership and management based on the analysis of the content of Qassem Soleimani's statements

Abstract

Managers and leaders of the society, in personal, moral and social development, need excellent models of management, which themselves are decorated with excellent leadership characteristics in thought and action. The statements of Martyr Qassem Soleimani, as a successful commander in the sacred defense and resistance front, have the ability to be a reference point in achieving the characteristics of successful managers. The present research has extracted the components and dimensions of leadership and management in his thought by analyzing the statements, speeches, letters and interviews of Shahid Soleimani using the method of content analysis. In this way, first the basic themes related to management and leadership were extracted from his words. Then, the basic themes were categorized based on the principle of similarity and formed the organizing themes. The characteristics of distinguished managers and leaders were extracted based on organizing themes and analyzed at two levels of belief and practice as overarching themes. In Sardar's intellectual system, a successful manager at the religious-belief level should have the characteristics of God-belief and Islam-oriented. At the religious-practical level, the features of non-attachment to the world, adherence to principles and protection of values, ability in management, influence power, risk-taking, spiritual management, adherence to worthy models and hard work provide the context for successful management
