Abstract

Workers’ rights and their related subjects are among the affairs that seem, in the first glance, to be exposed in the western law for the first time and they are not of long records in the Islamic and jurisprudential texts, but a careful study in the Islamic sources indicates that centuries before the development of the concept of workers’ law in the west, exposing basic law for workers, Islam has regarded such a high position for this stratum that is not seen in any human schools of thought. This research has been made to prove this claim, to deliberate different kinds of workers’ rights in the Imamiyeh (Shiite) jurisprudence, and to elaborate Imam Khomeini’s (pbuh) distinguished viewpoints in this field. The deliberation of his viewpoints about the workers’ positions and rights is of special importance in recognizing the Islamic government approach, because he was a skilful jurisprudent as well as a person who knew Islam and undertook the leadership of the Islamic society practically.
